(East Lansing, MI) — A former student at Michigan State University has been arrested for allegedly running a meth lab on campus. The university had to shut down its Wells Hall academic building during finals last week due to the “presence of an unidentified chemical.” Campus police said they found property damage in the building that was “directly related to alleged criminal activity.” On Wednesday night, police arrested 31-year-old Xin Tong, who they identified through his expired student ID, and said he was in possession of chemicals used to make methamphetamine.

Tong is currently being held in the county jail.
