(Lansing, MI) – Republican candidate for governor Perry Johnson is suing fellow GOP candidate, Congressman John James, over James’ campaign logo. Johnson says James is using a logo that could make it appear to voters that he is the incumbent governor or is already the Republican nominee for the office. Gretchen Whitmer has been Michigan’s governor since she was elected in 2018, and cannot run again due to term limits.
Johnson’s lawsuit also says James using the phrase “John James Governor” is intentional and designed to confuse voters about his current position.
