Tigers Beat Royals

(Detroit, MI) – The Tigers extended their winning streak to five games. Detroit beat the Kansas City Royals 2-1 for the second day in a row. Jake Rogers brought home a run on a sacrifice fly and Wenceel Perez hit a pinch-hit go-ahead home run in the eighth inning. Kyle Finnegan got the win out of the bullpen and Kenley Jansen locked down the save.

The teams will conclude their series this afternoon. Pre game 12:45 p.m. First pitch 1:10 p.m. on you home for Detroit Tiger’s baseball, 92.1 WGHN.

 

The Tigers locked up their star shortstop to a long-term contract. Detroit signed Kevin McGonigle to an eight-year, $150 million contract extension that begins next season.

 

McGonigle is hitting .313 with a home run and eight RBIs as a 21-year-old this season.
