Ottawa County deputies identify bicyclist killed in Grand Haven Township

Ottawa County, MI (WGHN) – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office has identified the 25yearold man who was killed after being struck by three vehicles while riding his bicycle in Grand Haven Township.

Deputies say Deavieon White of Grand Haven was riding northwest on Mercury Drive near Lake Avenue around 6:15 p.m. on Dec. 14 when he was hit by a Chevrolet Cruze traveling in the same direction.
White was thrown from his bike and then struck a second time by a Ford Escape traveling southeast on Mercury Drive. Authorities say a third vehicle also hit White and then fled the scene.
First responders transported White to a Muskegon hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The sheriff’s office is asking for help identifying the third vehicle involved. Deputies believe it continued southeast on Mercury Drive after the collision. Witnesses described the vehicle as a white SUV with a female passenger believed to be between 50 and 60 years old. No description of the driver is available.
