(Lansing, MI) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer has signed the Fiscal Year 2026 budget. The 81-billion-dollar spending plan was approved by lawmakers last week after months of negotiations between the Republican-controlled House and Democratic-controlled Senate. Whitmer says the budget is balanced, bipartisan, cuts taxes for seniors and families, and “delivers on the kitchen table issues that make a real difference in people’s lives.”
House Speaker Matt Hall says the budget gives “taxpayers better value for their dollars.”
