(Grand Blanc, MI)  —  Police say everyone is accounted for in the deadly attack on a Mormon church in Grand Blanc on Sunday.  A vigil was held yesterday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, where Samuel Hacker is the pastor.
Five people, including the shooter, were killed and eight more victims are recovering.  Police say 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford drove his vehicle through the front doors of the church and started shooting and started a fire.  Acting FBI Special Agent for Michigan Reuben Coleman said this was “targeted violence” and agents are looking for a motive.
Police and the FBI say they found four improvised explosive devices in the pickup truck used by Thomas Sanford on Sunday to crash into an LDS church in Grand Blanc. Sanford then opened fire and set the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on fire before he was killed by police. The IEDs were made from commercial grade fireworks and did not go off. Five people, including Sanford, were killed and eight others were injured.
