(Grand Rapids, MI) – The woman who tried to assassinate President Gerald Ford on September 22, 1975 in San Francisco has died. Sara Jane Moore was 95-years-old and died Wednesday, two years after the 50th anniversary of her assassination attempt. Moore shot a revolver from about 50-feet away at Ford, missing with her first shot and the second ricocheting and grazing another man in the area.
She tried to kill the President from Grand Rapids 17-days after Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme tried to do the same in Sacramento.
