(Grand Rapids, MI) – Officials at Corewell Health West are denying a claim that emergency room doctors and intensive care doctors are giving anesthesia. The claim was made by the Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists, who say Corewell has removed anesthesiologists from surgery. MSA president-elect Dr. Matt Dellaquila says they learned about it through outreach to members.
The contract between Corewell Health West and West Michigan Anesthesiologists expired September 2nd and was not renewed.
