GRAND HAVEN, MI — After more than two decades as a community staple, Jumpin’ Java will serve its last cup of coffee on Sept. 30, 2025. Owner Erin Lyon, who has run the café at 215 Washington Ave. for nearly a decade, announced the closure this week on social media. “This isn’t goodbye, it’s a heartfelt thank you,” Lyon wrote. “You’ve made Jumpin’ Java more than a coffee shop — you’ve made it a home.”
While longtime customers are sad to see the café go, they won’t have to say farewell to the space itself. On Nov. 3, Grand Finale Desserts & Cafe will open in the same location.
Grand Finale, owned by pastry chef Justin Raha, has supplied Jumpin’ Java with baked goods for the past nine years. Raha said the move into downtown Grand Haven will allow the business to expand its offerings. As part of the change, Grand Finale’s Franklin Avenue location will close its retail operation but remain a production facility for wholesale and catering. The company’s Spring Lake location will continue to operate.
Lyon emphasized that she’s grateful the space will remain a welcoming hub.
