(Lansing, MI) – U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers says Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan needs to call President Trump to get federal troops patrolling Motown. The Republican former congressman says Detroit is “a hub for violent crime” and “soars” above the national average for murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. City of Detroit spokesman John Roach counters Rogers, saying carjackings in Detroit have fallen 90-percent from 2013 and the city has partnered with U.S. Attorney Jerome Gorgon, who has added more federal prosecutors.
Roach called Rogers “just another uninformed, grandstanding politician.”
