(Chicago, IL) – Illinois leaders are bracing for President Trump to send the National Guard to Chicago. Governor JB Pritzker says he has learned that federal agents and military vehicles began staging on Monday on nearby federal property, including Naval Station Great Lakes in North Chicago. Pritzker says Trump plans to direct immigration enforcement agents to “raid Latino communities” in the coming weeks.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson blamed the president for the city’s ongoing gun violence epidemic, accusing him of allowing tens of thousands of guns to be trafficked into the state and city.
