Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is releasing updated information regarding the stabbing incident that occurred on Wednesday, August 28, 2025, at the Leisure Estates mobile home community in Holland Township.
Deputies responded to the scene following reports of a domestic dispute involving a disturbance and multiple stabbings. Upon arrival, deputies located three adult victims who had sustained stab wounds during the incident.

One victim, identified as Darrell Sandusky, age 52, of Park Township, died as a result of his injuries.

A second victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.

A third victim has been treated and released, but continues to receive ongoing medical care.
A forensic autopsy of Mr. Sandusky was completed today at Blodgett Hospital by Dr. Stephen Cohle. The autopsy determined the cause of death to be multiple stab wounds, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
Since the initial response, Sheriff’s Office Detectives have been actively investigating the events leading up to the stabbing. A 25-year-old male resident of Holland Township has been identified as the individual responsible for the stabbing. He was detained at the scene and has since been interviewed and released, pending further investigation. No formal charges have been authorized at this time, and the subject’s name is not being released.
Detectives have determined that all individuals involved were known to each other. The subject who carried out the stabbing resided at the home where the incident took place. The injured individuals were not residents of the home.
