ALLENDALE, Mich. – (WGHN) A 16-year-old boy is under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office for alleged sexual misconduct that occurred over two days at a business on 48th Avenue in Allendale Township.
The first incident took place on Monday, when deputies responded to reports of a teen closely following several women inside the store. According to authorities, the teen made inappropriate sexual contact with at least one woman before fleeing the scene prior to their arrival.
The business cooperated with investigators throughout the process.
On Tuesday, around 1:30 p.m., the teen reportedly returned to the store. Deputies were contacted again after he was seen following more women. In one instance, the teen allegedly approached a woman shopping with her child and partially exposed himself.
Deputies located the suspect and confirmed he was the same individual involved in Monday’s incident. The teen, who is from the Ionia County area, was released to his parents.
The case has been referred to the Ottawa County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further review and possible charges.
