(Grand Rapids, MI)  –  Michigan State Police held active shooter training for church leaders across the state yesterday in Grand Rapids.  Texas Corners Bible Church security leader and retired MSP trooper David VanLopik says most incidents involving an armed intruder are over within 30-to-60 seconds and says they need to be ready.
Wood TV 8 reports that MSP began offering training for church leaders for active shooters two years ago and have trained nearly 300 people.  The training came a few weeks after an active shooter showed up at a Detroit area church and was killed by security.
Michigan State Police Director Colonel James Grady led the training of church leaders in Grand Rapids yesterday for responding to an active shooter threat.
