ROBINSON TWP., MI (WGHN) – Five people were injured in a two-vehicle head-on crash that occurred late Tuesday afternoon in Robinson Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash took place around 5 p.m. on M-231, just north of Lincoln Street. Preliminary investigations indicate that a woman in her 30s, driving a southbound Nissan SUV, lost control of the vehicle and veered into the northbound lane, where it collided with a silver Ford SUV.
The driver of the Nissan sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. A 6-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Nissan also suffered serious injuries, Sgt. Chad Coulson reported.
The Ford SUV was driven by a man in his 70s. He and his two passengers — a woman in her 70s and another woman in her 50s — were transported for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
