Ottawa County, MI (WGHN) – 25-year-old man from Coopersville was killed in a crash late Friday night in Tallmadge Township. According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 11:45 p.m. on Leonard Street near Odawa Trail. The man was driving west in a Mini Cooper when he lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road and crashed several hundred feet into a wooded area.
Deputies responded after a nearby homeowner reported hearing a car speeding past, followed by a loud crash. When authorities arrived, they found the vehicle deep in the trees. The driver, who was alone in the car, was pinned inside and pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
