(Lansing, MI) – State Senate Majority Floor Leader Sam Singh says he is disappointed by the budget standoff between the two legislative chambers and Governor Whitmer. Singh says House Speaker Matt Hall needs to set targets and everyone should all get into a room and hammer it out. Hall said this week the Senate budget proposals are outdated because of the federal cuts coming from the One Big, Beautiful Bill recently signed into law.
The state faces a government shutdown on October 1st if no budget is approved.
