Holland, MI (WGHN) – Rescue crews rushed to Holland State Park Monday evening after a report of a possible water emergency near the channel. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says they got the call around 5:30 p.m., after a witness saw someone on the rocks by the pier wall — but never saw them come back.
Fearing the person may have fallen into the water, the Sheriff’s Marine Patrol, dive team, the U.S. Coast Guard, and local fire departments all searched the area.
As of 8 p.m., no one had been found, and no missing person reports had been filed from the beach or park.
Lieutenant Nick Knott says the investigation remains open.
