(Muskegon, MI) – More than 100 people joined together for the Pedal for Paws Pub Crawl fundraiser in Muskegon to support five animal rescues in the area. Big Lake Humane Society shelter manager Velvet Lyght says the event was the first of many that will come to help them.
The animal rescues say they work together behind the scenes to support animals in the Muskegon area, and add they have all been stretched thin lately with all being over capacity and under resourced. WOOD TV 8 reports that Noah Project president Jane McGregor says they have had surgeries cost as much as 18-thousand-dollars and with adoption fees averaging 300-to-400-dollars, fundraisers like what was held over the weekend are a big help.
Every Wednesday join us for our Adopt a Pet Segment with Big Lake Humane Society.
