(Lansing, MI) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer is ordering state agencies to report the impact of President Trump’s tariffs on imports in the next 30 days. She wants to see the effect on the state’s agricultural, automotive, and manufacturing industries. The reports will also need to project the future impacts of the tariffs.
In her executive directive, Whitmer says employers in the U.S. “face a direct cost of 82-point-three billion dollars because of the federal tariff plans.”
