Deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash involving two pickup trucks at the intersection of Osborne St and 104th Ave in Robinson Twp just after 9:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Both vehicles ended up in a nearby field following the collision.
The Sheriff’s office says that a silver 2018 Ford F-350, driven by a 70-year-old Grand Haven man, was headed north on 104th Avenue — where there’s no stop sign. At the same time, a black 2017 Ford F-250, driven by a 23-year-old man from Allendale, was going westbound on Osborn Street. Authorities say the driver failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the northbound vehicle.
The crash pushed both trucks into a nearby field. The driver and two passengers in the F-250 were trapped and had to be rescued by the Robinson Township Fire Department.
The driver and a 22-year-old passenger from Ravenna both suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to hospitals in Grand Rapids and Muskegon. A third passenger, a 21-year-old from Grand Haven, had only minor injuries. The driver of the northbound F-350 also suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized.
The intersection was closed for a time while crews investigated and cleaned up the scene.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Robinson Township and Allendale Fire, LIFE EMS, and Aero Med.
