KENTWOOD, MI – U.S. Representative Hillary Scholten (MI-03) and 30 members of Team Scholten volunteered at Feeding America West Michigan. The team processed 5,600 pounds of food that will help feed 2,800 families in need.
“As the cost of living skyrockets, hundreds of West Michiganders are feeling the pinch and struggling to afford their groceries,” said Representative Scholten. “At times like this, Team Scholten is responding with action–not only with my votes in Washington, but my actions on the ground here at home. Organizations like Feeding America are more important than ever. I’m so grateful for their work nourishing our community. Our efforts today were a reminder that even when things look bleak in Washington, we can always show up for our communities in ways big and small. As I continue to fight for Michiganders in D.C., we are also going to continue hosting these regular volunteer events at home in the district.
