(Grand Haven Township, MI) – Nine manufacturers are working together to solve workplace shortages. Deric Morell, the chief people officer for Shape Corporation, says their demands are up while the workforce has shrunk over the past several years.
WOOD TV 8 reports that Shape Corporation is teaming up with Amway, Cascade Engineering, DeWys Metal Solutions, Landscape Forms, Manufacturing Talent Alliance, Proper Beverage, SoundOff Signal, and Wolverine Coil Spring for the effort, which is being led by the nonprofit TalentFirst. They have picked three jobs, machine and repair techs in production floor, general production and assembly line workers, and production front-line supervisors and plan to have solutions for those positions by December.
