Parade of Ships to arrive today

Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – Today the Parade of Ships arrive for the 101st Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival. Annie Lenkeek with the Festival office says the USCCG MACKINAW and USCGC KATMAI BAY. Ship tours are from 6-8 p.m.

Grand Haven Department of Public Safety officers have been incredibly busy. Responsibilities include not only managing the daily call volume but also setting up barricades for Coast Guard events, controlling traffic points in any weather, leading the Coast Guard run, participating in the kids’ parade, and having staff present in the water for the cardboard boat races.

If you lose a personal item at the Waterfront concerts you can stop into the festival office during the week to check our lost and found. The office is located at 113 N. Second Street, Grand Haven, MI
All Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival events are held rain or shine. If lightning or thunderstorms are detected within a 10-mile radius, each event will be evaluated individually for safety.
