(Norton Shores, MI) – Furniture maker MillerKnoll is closing its plant in Norton Shores in the Muskegon area over the next two years. They will move the product lines and most of the jobs to their two facilities in Spring Lake, but they have not said how many of the employees will be given the chance to transfer.
Mike Naruskiewicz spent over two decades working for furniture companies in the area and was saddened by the announcement.
Wood TV 8 reports that there are around 250 employees in Norton Shores. City administrator Anthony Chandler says they learned of the closure on Tuesday and they are working with state and local economic development agencies on how it might impact the area.
