(Zeeland, MI) –The Zeeland Planning Commission has preliminarily approved a rezoning request from Mead Johnson to allow the company to expand its infant formula plant. Resident Lauren Mannes was not happy with the decision.
Another vote is planned for July 10 and the city council will have the final say in a vote July 21. Mead Johnson wants to rezone 605 and 633 East Michigan Avenue from residential to general industrial, and would demolish the eight townhomes and one single family home on the land right now. The company is planning an 836-million-dollar modernization.
