Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – The Grand Haven Planning Commission held a public hearing on the proposed development at 233 Washington Avenue. That is the proposed 128-room Residence Inn by Marriott by 6PM Hospitality Partners and BDR Inc.

Tom Welling is with 6PM Hospitality Partners says that the Hotel Lodging Association says that hotel guests in the State of Michigan spend 18 billion dollars annually:

The 128-room hotel would have 95% occupancy in July and August. Traffic and parking is a concern for many who live in the area. The plan is for 89 parking spaces on site.

Many voice their concerns:

There will be another public meeting with a final development review before it goes to Grand Haven City Council.

6PM Hospitality Partners says that the engineering and architecture demolition would probably start late fall to mid winter. They then will begin into the actual construction. The timeline is about 14 months. The hotel should open in March or April of 2027. Find the full meeting  here.
