(Webber Township, MI) – The North Lake Correctional Facility in Webber Township near Baldwin will reopen to house inmates held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prison has been closed for nearly three years.
It’s owned by Florida-based GEO Group. GEO Group says they reached a contract agreement with ICE and will reopen the prison for “immediate activation of a federal immigration processing center.”
