(GRAND HAVEN) – WGHN-FM 92.1 and Plantenga’s Cleaners are thrilled to announce the conclusion of their 2024 Coat Drive, which has successfully collected and cleaned over 1,700 coats for those in need in our community. Thanks to the incredible generosity of residents, the drive also gathered over 200 pairs of gloves donated by the West Michigan Lakeshore Association of Realtors and more than 100 hats.
This annual initiative would not have been possible without the support of our key sponsor, Tri-Cities Credit Union, and the Kieft Agency in Spring Lake. We also extend our gratitude to the participating drop-off locations across the community, which made it easy for residents to contribute to this vital cause.
All collected items will remain local, benefiting individuals and families through Love in Action and The Salvation Army. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of those facing the challenges of Michigan’s winter season.
“We are deeply moved by the community’s support and commitment to helping our neighbors stay warm this winter,” said Mike Toth, General Manager of WGHN-FM. “The success of this coat drive is a testament to the generosity and compassion of West Michigan and in particular Grand Haven, Spring Lake and our surrounding communities,” commented Al Plantenga.
