(Lansing, MI) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer is apologizing if anyone was offended by her TikTok video skit she appeared in with influencer Liz Plank. Whitmer says it was a parody and not intended to “denigrate someone’s faith.” She said in a statement the video was “supposed to be about the importance of the CHIPS Act to Michigan jobs” but was “construed as something it was never intended to be, and I apologize for that.”
The Michigan Catholic Conference had concerns about Whitmer feeding Plant a Dorito as Plank was kneeling, which resembles how some Catholics take the Eucharist.
