(Grand Haven, MI) – A Beach Hazards Statement is being issued for beaches in West Michigan. The National Weather Service says strong winds moving through the area will create waves as large as seven-feet through Saturday, which can be dangerous for those in swimming in the water. The statement is in effect for Allegan, Muskegon, Oceana, Ottawa and Van Buren counties.

Red light flashing at Grand Haven State Park with the swim smart system. Stay off the piers as well.
