Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – The Elite Hospitality Group that manages the Spring Lake Holiday Inn has proposed a new hotel for Grand Haven’s north side. As previously reported , the dual hotel under review includes a Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites by Hilton for short-term and possibly long-term stays with 131 total rooms.
Grand Haven City Planner Brian Urquhart tells the Grand Haven Tribune that the reason it’s before the planning commission is because they are relocating the hotel. On September 10th a public hearing will take place during the Planning Commission meeting where a preliminary plan is expected to be recommended.
Then in October another meeting will take place during the commission’s regularly scheduled meeting. In November final plans would need to be approved by the planning commission in it’s November meeting.
After that process, the Elite Hospitality Group can submit the building permit and drawings for approval to begin construction with the hotel’s estimated opening in late 2025 or early 2026.
