Triple-A Michigan is offering tips for Michiganders ahead of the heat wave that will push temperatures into the 90s. One of their top tips is to not leave children alone in a vehicle, even if the air conditioning is on or the windows are open.

They also urge people to always check their back seat to make sure the kids are not in the vehicle before you get out and call 9-1-1 if you see any children or pets left alone in a car.

* WHAT…Heat index values up to around 100 expected.

* WHERE…Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
central Michigan.

* IMPACTS…Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The prolonged impacts of hot temperatures and
high humidity this week will increase potential for heat related
illnesses.
