(GRAND HAVEN)-The Grand Haven Offshore Challenge is porting in the city this weekend.

From yesterday until Sunday, the city will witness fierce competition as several dozen boats, manned by anglers ranging from ‘amateurs’ to ‘legends,’ battle it out on Lake Michigan in pursuit of ‘The Big One.’

Each day’s competition starts at 6 am, and crews must be back at the docks by 130 pm for weigh-in at Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium.

Prize money for the winners ranges up to $20,000.

Fish caught in the tournament will be donated to local food banks.

Captain Brian Moat of fishgh.com and the WGHN Boating & Fishing Report says the weather and marine forecast looks great for this weekend’s competition.
