Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) –  With 98.94% of votes (187 of 189) in the preference poll, the delegates of the Ottawa County Republicans chose first-term Ottawa County Republicans Chair Brendan Muir over the incumbent 7-term Congressman, Bill Huizenga, at the Ottawa County Republican Endorsement Convention.

“It is my honor to have the endorsement of the real men and women who work to grow our party.  I am humbled by the show of support and am fired up by the momentum we are accumulating.”

As the foundation of the party, precinct delegates are the working arm of the GOP. In Ottawa County, 86% of the 354 Republican spots are filled by members who represent their community in the GOP. In comparison, only approximately 6% of the 356 Democrat PD positions are filled in Ottawa County. The leadership of the Democrat Party, in the last decade, has done a good job of intentionally drumming out their base party members. One can see that if you examine a Democrat primary ballot. Democrats clear the field to one candidate, so money can be spent in the general election. Democrats then encourage their base to cast votes in the Republican primary to choose the weaker and more liberal candidate to represent the GOP in the general election.

“I am grateful to have received the overwhelming support of the America First Patriots at the Ottawa County GOP Nominating Convention. I’m running to give you a voice and to Revive Our American Republic!” –
