(GRAND HAVEN)-Arguably, the most famous horses in the world will be a part of the upcoming 100th Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival.
Today, event organizers announced the Budweiser Clydesdales will appear on Coast Guard Saturday, August 3rd.
The horses will be a part of the Coast Guard Festival Parade at 1145 AM.
Eight Clydesdales will pull the iconic red Anheuser Busch wagon through downtown.
Each horse stands almost six feet tall and weighs nearly a ton.
A Dalmatian will accompany the team. In the mid-1800s, the dogs were bred to protect the horses and wagons while drivers made deliveries. The tradition continues today in a ceremonial role.
The “Gentle Giants,” as they are known, are part of one of the world’s most recognizable advertising campaigns, which originated in 1933.
