(Grand Rapids, MI) – The 47th annual River Bank Run is right around the corner, and organizers are sharing some new details for this year’s race. Operations Director Steve Morrow says he hopes this will provide some added motivation for runners to get across the finish line.
“My goal this year was for the runners to more than a mile or two without running into a band, DJ, or a spirit station or an aid station.”
The new medals were also unveiled yesterday, donning silver and blue colors and showing waves rolling behind a runner with the Grand Rapids skyline in the background. Nearly ten thousand people have signed up for this year’s race. Organizers say the event brings in more than 25 thousand people to downtown Grand Rapids. The main race is scheduled for Saturday, May 11th.
