Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing approximately $6.2 million to improve the northbound and southbound US-131 bridges over Plaster Creek just south of Burton Street in Grand Rapids. Work includes concrete joint repairs on US-131 from M-11 (28th Street) to Pearl Street.
Starting Tuesday, April 30th, Southbound US-131 is scheduled to CLOSE at Burton Street 7 a.m. There was a rain delay today, Monday April 29th.
All southbound traffic must exit at or before Burton Street. Detour- Take westbound I-196 to eastbound M-6 to southbound US-131. Double lane closures will be in effect on southbound US-131 from Ann Street to Burton Street.
The ramps from southbound US-131 to eastbound and westbound I-196 are scheduled to close this Monday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. to set up traffic control.
The off ramps from southbound US-131 to Burton Street will have short-term intermittent closures. During these ramp closures, traffic will exit at MLK Jr. Street or Hall Street.
On ramp from Leonard/Turner to southbound US-131 closes 7 a.m. Monday through May 24.
Ramp from eastbound I-196 to southbound US-131 closes 7 a.m.Monday through May 15.
On/off ramps at Pearl Street and southbound US-131 close 7 a.m.Monday through May 15.
On ramp from Wealthy Street to southbound US-131 closes 7 a.m.Monday through May 15.
On/off ramps at MLK Jr. Street and Hall Street to/from southbound US-131 close 7 a.m. Monday through May 24.
