(Monroe, MI) – The 66-year-old woman charged in the deaths of two children in a crash at the Swan Boat Club in Berlin Township has posted bond and is free. Marshella Chidester had her bond set this week at one-point-five-million-dollars and she is not allowed to drive, has to wear a GPS tether, and be monitored for substance use. Eight-year-old Alanah Phillips and her four-year-old brother Zayn Phillips were killed and ten other people were hospitalized with injuries after Chidester drove her SUV into the building.

Defense attorney Bill Colovos said his client had an “epileptic-type seizure in her legs.”
