Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) -Rep. Hillary Scholten (MI-03) joined the  City of Muskegon’s leadership to announce a new federal investment to help keep Muskegon residents safe on Thursday with  $380,000 to help the Public Safety Department. It’s for a vehicle barrier system.

Scholten  spoke about bipartisan legislation with  Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02). Both called on their House colleagues to pass H.R. 7478, the PROTECT Jewish Students and Faculty Act. This bipartisan legislation requires U.S. colleges and universities to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) official working definition of antisemitism in student and faculty codes of conduct as a condition of receiving Title IV federal funds for financial aid.

We also discussed the women’s health and the availability of services in West Michigan. Hear the interview below.
