(Ottawa County, MI) – There is a huge swell of interest for people who want to become an Ottawa County commissioner. County Clerk Justin Roebuck says they have not had this many people running for the commission in at least the past 25 years, as 33 candidates have filed for the August primary election. Roebuck adds it is the first time in his ten years as clerk that Democrats have filed a candidate in every county commission race and a lot of candidates are running for the first time.

Many say they are frustrated by the majority of the county board as they are with the conservative advocacy group Ottawa Impact.
