(GRAND HAVEN)-Fans of the WWE have gotten another look at the handiwork of Grand Haven’s own “Leatherman.”
Jeff Reyers, aka “The Leatherman,” owns JR Leather Company and handles the leatherwork for the championship belts of the biggest professional wrestling company in the world.
Last week, during Monday Night Raw, “The Miz” & “R Truth” were presented with a brand new pair of World Tag Team titles.
On Friday, WWE Director of Creative Paul Levesque (Triple H) gave “Grayson Waller” & “Austin Theory” a new pair of WWE Tag Team belts (pictured.)
The latter pair has been a hit with the WWE Universe as they are modeled after the WWF Tag Team Championships of the 1980s.
Reyers prepares, cuts, rivets, and sews the leather for the belts. He then ships the straps to another contractor who manufactures the large decorative metal plates on the titles.
Besides designing new belts, Reyers also handles torn leather repairs on older belts.
He has worked with WWE for years and is proud of the showcase the company provides his talents.
