(Grand Rapids, MI) – State Representative Bryan Posthumus, a Republican from west Michigan, will be asking Governor Whitmer to send National Guard troops to Texas to help that state in the immigration crisis. Posthumus is requesting around three-thousand troops be sent but has not yet talked to the governor.
Indiana and other states with Republican governors have sent National Guard soldiers to Texas, but Michigan, with a Democratic governor, has not.
