Holland, MI (WGHN) – A 15-year-old bicyclist sustained moderate injuries Thursday evening around 7:15 p.m. on Ottawa Beach Rd west of Waukazoo Dr in Park Twp after being struck by a 2013 KIA Optima.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says that a 2013 Kia Optima, driven by a 22 year old female from Holland, was traveling west on Ottawa Beach Road. A 15 year old male, also from Holland, was riding a bicycle on the north side of the roadway on a 2 track. The male then entered the roadway in path of the KIA and was struck.
The 15 year old bicyclist sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Holland Hospital by AMR Ambulance. He was wearing a helmet. The driver of the KIA was uninjured in the incident.
This remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
