(Charlotte, NC) – Michigan State is advancing in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament after blowing out Mississippi State in the first round of the West region 69-51 in Charlotte. Tyson Walker led all scorers with 19 points for the Spartans. Jaden Akins chipped in with 15 points and seven rebounds. Number nine MSU will play number one North Carolina in the second round tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Michigan State women are a nine-seed and open up against eight-seed North Carolina today.
