(Grand Blanc, MI) – Some lucky winner, or winners, will be starting off the new year hundreds of millions of dollars richer after Monday’s Powerball drawing. Grand Blanc, Michigan Township Supervisor Scott Bennett says he’s excited that hopefully the winner came from the township. A single winning ticket was sold at a Food Castle in Grand Blanc worth an estimated 842 million dollars.
Grand Blanc Township Supervisor Scott Bennett says he’s can’t believe what happened.
“My phone started ringing early this morning with friends and family saying, ‘hey did you see the news?’ I saw it immediately and though this is great for our community.”
Food Castle store owner Bill Nannoshi says he was very surprised.
“You usually hear about these things happening in other states. It’s great for the community I think and hopefully it’s somebody that is gonna spend some of that money here.”
Should they take the cash option, that works out to just over 425 million bucks.
