Cornerstone Church To Leave United Methodist Denomination

(Grand Rapids, MI) –  Michigan’s largest congregation of United Methodists is becoming independent after voting to leave the denomination. Cornerstone Church is based in Caledonia and has two locations in Grand Rapids. Lead Pastor Ken Nash called the move “a healthy step for Cornerstone as we navigate ministry in these complex times.”

Seven churches in Michigan have left the United Methodist Church, and the Michigan Conference of the UMC expects that to rise by 23 more by June.
