(Grand Haven, MI) – A judge has blocked the firing of Ottawa County administrative health officer Adeline Hambley by granting a temporary restraining order. She is suing over the Ottawa County commission’s vote to fire her at their first meeting of the year in January and says in the lawsuit they have not given evidence she is not doing the job. The commission also voted to revise the record of the December meeting of the former commission where she was appointed.
Commission lawyer David Kallman says Hambley was “never fully appointed to the permanent position.” He went on to say that municipal bodies speak through their motions and order and the resolutions that they pass. If they are wrong then they have to be corrected to reflect what was actually done at the meeting. That’s all that happened.”
