(East Lansing, MI) – Michigan State University officials are putting out a warning about fake Spartan Strong products. They say they have seen an increase in the sales of unlicensed products since the shooting last Monday night of eight students that killed three of them. MSU says it is not known if sales of the unlicensed products will be donated to the Spartan Strong Fund. The fund was created to support the needs of people most critically affected.
Eight seats were empty at the Breslin Center last night as Michigan State University’s men’s basketball team played their first home game since eight students were shot and three killed last week. Towels were placed on the seats in the front row of the arena. MSU beat Indiana, 80-65.
Spartan coach Tom Izzo said he is encouraging his team to be open about their emotions, saying it has nothing to do with how tough or strong they are.
