(Dearborn, MI) — The average price of a gallon of gas in Michigan continues to rise quickly. Triple-A Michigan says the state’s average price is up 85-cents from last week to four-dollars-87-cents, a dollar more than last month and a dollar-65 more than last year.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says gas prices will come down once the Strait of Hormuz is open. Duffy made the comment on ABC’s “This Week.”

A 15-gallon tank of gas costs 73-dollars on average in Michigan, 22-dollars more than the high price last year set in August. We’re averaging around 4.90 a gallon in the tri cities. In California gas is up to $7.00 a gallon.
